January 2024 Playlist

I hope everyone has had a good January so far, but now that January 2024 is coming to a close, I thought I would share my top songs of the month.

If you’re anything like me, music plays a big part in your life, especially when you have anxiety. Due to this, I’m big on having the same few songs on repeat for weeks, sometimes months. Like everyone else, my taste really depends on where I’m at in life.

The past few months have been incredibly stressful, so I’ve had a particularly bad case of listening to the same few songs, but this January, I added a few new songs into that rotation.

I’m definitely late on the bus, but Noah Kahan has infiltrated my playlist, and I’ll admit, I’m guilty of listening to the more mainstream songs from the album, but they’re fantastic.

Taylor Swift is always been a significant part of my daily music consumption. With the re-recordings, aka (Taylor’s Version), It’s been fun to go back and listen to songs I hadn’t listened to for a while, especially from Fearless. Not to mention, the vault tracks so far from the re-recordings have been absolutely fantastic. Especially, Is It Over Now? Not only because it’s an absolute bop but because if you know, you know what she’s talking about in the bridge. To say I wasn’t completely shocked when I heard that for the first time would be an absolute lie. Either way, between the re-recordings and Midnights, I’ve been even more obsessed than before.

Another artist that I’ve been completely obsessed with is Sabrina Carpenter. emails I can’t send was unique, but when she dropped the deluxe version, emails I can’t send fwd: with the song Feather, it made me love the album even more. Her performance at the VMA’s was the mashup of Feather and Nonsense that I didn’t know I needed, but I’ll stop there because I could go on about how impressive that performance was and how it should have been on the main stage. VMA performance aside, her joining the Era’s Tour as an opener was so exciting! Especially since many people who live-stream the concert also stream her performance, I can typically catch the nonsense outro.

Saying all of this, I’ve put off my favorite songs of the month long enough. My top songs, in no particular order, are:

I know there are only 3 artists on this month’s playlist, but they’ve been a vibe lately. I’ve already started incorporating artists like Wes Reeve back into my playlist. If you don’t know who Wes Reeve is, check her out wherever you listen to music because she’s a fantastic artist. My favorite song from her is Never-Ending Summer.
