The Popcorn
Celebrity brands are popping up so frequently that it’s hard to keep track of how many there are. Some of the celebrity brands make sense, while others make no sense and give the vibe that they’re a cash grab. Saying this, there have been highly successful celebrity brands like Fenty Beauty, Rare Beauty, and Chamberlain Coffee, just to name a few, that offer quality products.
When approaching celebrity brands, the bar tends to be low. Don’t expect too much, but hope for the best.
That’s why seeing a bag of popcorn with the Jonas Brothers on it was both unsurprising and shocking, and that’s why it was immediately added to the cart.
The Flavor
As of this writing, Rob’s Backstage Popcorn currently has four flavors, including the original version. Each is a collaboration with a celebrity.

The back of the popcorn bag tells the story of how the brand came to be. It’s a sweet story about how the brothers first met Rob, the creator of the recipes, and how it became one of their favorite snacks, especially before shows or in their green room, hence the name backstage popcorn.
Having purchased Rob’s original flavor, I was shocked when I first tried it because I expected a more traditional popcorn flavor but was met with something different. After a few bites, it reminded me of sour cream and onion. This was a misstep on my end, as I had yet to look at the flavor descriptor on the bag before eating it, where it mentions some of those ingredients. However, that was for the best because, outside of expecting a more traditional flavor, I didn’t have any other flavor expectations.
That flavor category is one of my favorites, so it didn’t take long before I knew it was going to be one of my favorites.
Is it Worth it?
Although I have only tried one of the four current flavors in the line-up, it’s worth a try if you’re on the fence about trying the popcorn. It’s not just another celebrity cash grab with a subpar product. Rob’s Backstage Popcorn is a genuinely good product I can’t wait to purchase again. And if you want to avoid committing to an entire bag in case you hate the flavor, they offer snack sizes, which is a great way to try out the flavors.
